At J. Woeste, our mission is simple: to make people smile. Our eclectic collection of treasures has something for everyone! Visit our charming indoor-outdoor shop in a 114-year-old farmhouse in Los Olivos. Wander through our whimsical garden, nursery, and home store.

Owner Jefferson Woeste inherited a green thumb on California’s Central Coast. With two grandfathers who were gardeners and farmers, it was destined. After studying at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Jefferson fell in love with this turn-of-the-century farmhouse in wine country. Since 1998, he’s delighted the Santa Ynez Valley with unique, whimsical home and garden decor.

Every plant is hand-picked at the growers, and products are carefully selected by Jefferson. Our collection includes garden planters, yard art, succulents, home goods, zen pieces, wind chimes, and hard-to-find treasures. Many items and houseplants make wonderful hostess gifts—ask about our beautiful boxed begonias!

Circle V Ranch Camp is nestled in the Los Padres National Forest. Surrounded by mature oak trees and the ranch has miles of hiking trails.  Located just 18 miles from beautiful Santa Barbara. The  Camp embraces youth-centered programming. The camp’s commitment is to the growth and development of children through positive, meaningful and rewarding activities.

Circle V Ranch is ideal for nonprofit groups, retreats and meetings. Specifically, equipped with 14 air-conditioned/heated cabins for up to 150 guests from September-May. Traditional camp happens June-August. Accordingly, the Camp also includes a heated swimming pool, miniature golf and a full-service kitchen/dining lodge with available catering.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Council

circle-v-ranch-campEspecially, founded by the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Council of Los Angeles in 1945  in the Big Pines area of the Los Angeles National Forest. From 1954-1990, the Society leased several different locations for its summer camp program around Southern California.

In 1990, the Society purchased Circle V Ranch (previously owned by the Boy Scouts) on 30 acres in the Los Padres National Forest. The Camp is located just 20 minutes from Santa Barbara, in the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley

The primary goal of the Circle V Ranch summer program is to develop a strong spiritual, physical, mental, and social character. Basically, these youth work through a variety of activities and encounters with positive role models. Circle V Ranch Camp provides innovative and enriching outdoor experiences. A Quiet Revolution out of the vineyards of California’s Central Coast, the Firestone Walker Brewing Company has grown to become an authentic regional craft brewery.

The journey began with Adam Firestone (The Bear) and David Walker (The Lion) debating beer. Frustrated by the lack of quality local ales, they decided to brew their own. Their early efforts, using a second-hand brewhouse and repurposed winemaking equipment, yielded mixed results. However, they struck gold with their first recipe for Double Barrel Ale.

The Brewmaster: Matt Brynildson

In 2001, Adam and David relocated their brewing operations to Paso Robles and found “the perfect brewmaster at the perfect time.” Matt Brynildson, known as “Merlin,” has since worked his magic at Firestone Walker, earning a reputation as one of the world’s leading brewmasters.

Welcome to Birkholm’s Bakery

– A Taste of Tradition!

Since 1951, Birkholm’s Bakery has been baking up joy, family style! Founded by Carl “Cookie” Sr. and Charlotte Birkholm, this beloved Solvang bakery has delighted generations with its authentic Danish recipes brought over from Denmark. In 1980, Carl Jr. and Elizabeth took the reins, keeping the family’s original recipes alive.

The baking and pastry skills passed from generation to generation for over 60 years at Birkholm’s Bakery.

Discover Bell’s: A French-Inspired Bistro in California

Located in Los Alamos, California, Bell’s restaurant is a family-run, French-inspired bistro founded by Per Se alums Daisy and Greg Ryan. Since opening in March 2018, Bell’s has received numerous accolades, including a Michelin star, Food & Wine’s Best New Chef, and Esquire’s Best New Restaurants. The restaurant has also been featured in Eater LA, Conde Nast Traveler, and Travel & Leisure. In 2021, the Bell’s family expanded with the opening of their sister restaurant, Bar Le Côte, in Los Olivos.

Our Journey

Daisy Ryan | Executive Chef, Co-Owner
Daisy, a native of the Santa Ynez Valley, honed her culinary skills in New York, working at Gramercy Tavern and Per Se. After returning to California, she and Greg opened Bell’s.

Greg Ryan | CEO, Co-Owner
Greg, originally from Oregon, began his career in New York before moving to California. He worked at the Beverly Hills Hotel and managed top restaurants in Austin before opening Bell’s with Daisy.

Mike Mergo | General Manager
With over twenty years of hospitality experience, Mike brings a wealth of knowledge from his work in New York and Los Angeles to Bell’s.

Ryan Pelton | Service & Hospitality Manager
Ryan’s background in hospitality spans from the Midwest to Portland, OR, and Santa Barbara. He brings his passion for service and coffee to Bell’s.

Rachelle Wilson | Pastry Chef
Born in Santa Maria, Rachelle has a deep-rooted passion for food. She has perfected her pastry skills at Bell’s.

Diego Tejeda | Sous-Chef
Originally from Puerto Vallarta, Diego has extensive kitchen experience on the Central Coast and now contributes his culinary expertise to Bell’s.

Zach Hobbie | Events Manager
Growing up in the Congo and Tanzania, Zach developed a love for diverse food traditions. He joined Bell’s after managing various restaurants in Austin.

At Bell’s, we blend urban and global perspectives with a deep appreciation for the local artisans and produce of California’s Central Coast.
