Nik and Ashley lived in Bangkok, Thailand for 4 years and had both their children while living in the bustling city. The restaurant name comes from the street they lived on – Sukhimvit Soi 4, also known as Soi Na Na. All the while, they were captivated by the intense flavors of the city’s street food.

Working Together

In 2019, Nik and Ashley decided to move closer to family and accepted positions at Acme Hospitality in Santa Barbara. A few years later, while searching for a new home in the Santa Ynez Valley, they met Greg and Daisy Ryan of Companion Hospitality. In June of 2022, they began a series of weekly Thai pop-ups at Companion’s Bar Le Côte in Los Olivos. Now, with a permanent outpost in Buellton, Nik and Ashley finally get to work together again.

The Magic of Our Vineyards

Welcome to a journey through the heart of our winemaking passion! At the core of our craft is a deep belief that every exceptional wine starts in the vineyard. We, as winemakers, are the guardians of this connection between soil, climate, and landscape—what the French call ‘terroir.’

Our adventure began in the enchanting Santa Ynez Valley. The unique transverse mountain ranges, refreshing coastal climate, and ancient seabed soils drew us. This region is one-of-a-kind in California, where the coastal mountains stretch from west to east, guiding cool, misty winds from the Pacific Ocean through the valley. These daily breezes are the secret behind our ideal growing conditions, especially for our beloved Rhone varieties. With one of the longest growing seasons in the world, from mid-February to mid-November, our grapes develop intense, concentrated flavors, resulting in rich, structured wines that are a delight to savor.

Our vineyards span 150 acres across three sites and three appellations. The Curtis Vineyard, home to our Estate Winery, boasts 100 acres of meticulously tended vines, including the legendary Jurassic Park section, with its robust Chenin Blanc. We’re continuously refining our vineyards, and our Estate Syrah, along with our special Grenache, Mourvèdre, and white blends, showcases the fruits of our labor.

Beyond our Estate, we also source exquisite fruit from top vineyards in the Central Coast, including the newly recognized Los Alamos Valley AVA. The steep, sandy slopes of Watch Hill Vineyard yield Syrah with remarkable depth and natural acidity. We’re always exploring new vineyards in search of the next great Syrah!

Sta Rita Hills Lavender Farm, a boutique lavendar family farm located in the beautiful Santa Rita Hills of California.

santa-rita-hills-lavander-farmThe Sta.Rita Hills Lavender Farm first opened to the public July 4th 2022, this mother and son team uses Permaculture/ Regenerative practices to cultivate Lavender and Seasonal Specialty Cut Flowers. The Lavender is then either sold as bundles or distilled into Lavender Essential Oil to be used in all of the Bath and Body products carried in the farm stand and online.

Sta.Rita Hills Lavender Farm also grows lavender for Culinary purposes, selling Lavender culinary goods along with other farm grown foods such as Pomegranates and Farm Fresh Eggs.

Lavender & Specialty Cut Flowers

Founded in May 2020 by the dedicated mother-son duo Denise and Lucas Neumann, Santa Rita Hills Lavender Farm grows over 3,000 lavender plants along with seasonal specialty cut flowers and produce using regenerative farming practices. Denise, a Master Gardener and former assistant market manager of the Beverly Hills Farmer’s Market, brings her expertise to this labor of love.

Giorgio’s Italian restaurant in Buellton has opened a second location, Giorgio’s at the Lot, in downtown Los Olivos. Owner Giorgio Curti expressed excitement about the new venture.

The outdoor mobile eatery, located near local wineries, serves lunch and dinner from Thursday to Sunday. The menu includes wood-fired pizza, sandwiches, salads, and seasonal specials.

Patrons can bring their own beverages or request delivery from partner wineries with no corkage fee. Giorgio’s at the Lot is located at 2956 Grand Ave. They offer eat-in, takeout, and online ordering at order.giorgios.cafe/s/order.

Cecco Ristorante – Seasonally inspired Italian cuisine featuring wood burning oven pizza, handmade pastas, cheese, and antipasti. We use farmer’s market and artisan products whenever possible.

Chef David Cecchini

California native and Solvang resident, Chef David Cecchini combines fresh ingredients with diverse influences and years of experience to offer rustic Italian Cuisine in the heart of Santa Barbara Wine Country.

CECCO is located in downtown Solvang at 475 1st Street. The food is Italian in spirit, using local and seasonal ingredients.The menu features Neapolitan inspired, thin crust pizzas baked in an Italian wood burning brick oven with two daily-changing special pies and a “piatto del giorno” from the oven.

CECCO’S menu is country casual and friendly, featuring hand made fresh pasta, salumi, salads, grilled meats and seafood. Local wines served by the bottle, glass and quartino are some of CECCO’S other tasteful offerings.

The 2013 opened their second Santa Barbara Wine Country restaurant, Brothers Restaurant at the Red Barn in Santa Ynez. This allows them to offer great food, wine and hospitality to visitors and locals alike. The brothers strive to have legendary service and innovative “made from scratch” cuisine. They provide a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere that causes you to return time and again.

In the summer of 1996, they opened the original Brothers Restaurant in Solvang, which they soon outgrew. In 2002, the brothers brought fine dining to Mattei’s Tavern. They took care of that venerable spot until they opened Sides Hardware & Shoes – in Los Olivos in 2012.

The Nichols Brothers

The Nichols brothers, Matt & Jeff, grew up in Ames, Iowa where their love of cooking, good food and a sense of family and community was nurtured.

Saddle up and mosey on over to our newly revamped hideaway! With a barn-red paint on the outside, you’ll find a warm and welcoming local tavern feel inside, boasting clean lines and a rustic charm. Our space is accented with rich oak, restored branded wood beams, a white-paneled ceiling, and wrought iron lighting. The L-shaped room now features higher ceilings and massive glass windows, creating an airy, open space.

The Red Barn Restaurant Chefs

Watch our talented chefs in action in the open display kitchen. We’ve added a glass-enclosed wine room right next to the dining area, and the original wood-burning fireplaces are still crackling away, with seasoned firewood provided by the trusty Agin Brothers who’ve been supplying the Nichols family for over a decade.

The room, beautifully illuminated by two wrought iron and rope chandeliers, handcrafted by local blacksmith Hans Duus, featuring vintage Edison-style bulbs. Historical photographs of Los Rancheros Visitadores, the legendary group of local horsemen and ranchers dating back to 1929, adorn the walls.

During construction, we discovered old wallpaper beneath layers of paint and paneling, illustrated with dancing girls, pistols, playing cards, and saloons. We’ve preserved and framed these treasures to grace our dining room walls. Don’t miss JC’s handsome bar, crafted by locals Scott and Chris Bruhn from a felled pine tree from Figueroa Mountain. Come on in and experience the perfect blend of history, charm, and western flair!

Sta. Rita Hills American Viticulture Appellation (AMA)

The Sta. Rita Hills American Viticulture Appellation is located on California’s Central Coast in Santa Barbara County. The Pacific Ocean’s marine layer and afternoon ocean breezes traverse the coastal valley corridors between the Purisima Hills and the Santa Rosa Hills, creating the perfect environment for growing Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and other cool climate wine grape varieties.

Founded in 1997, the Sta. Rita Hills Winegrowers Alliance was created to bring together growers and winemakers in the Western Santa Ynez Valley. With AVA status granted in 2001, our mission continues to support our members, from vineyard to tasting room.

Alliance Mission

The Sta. Rita Hills AVA status was granted in 2001 by the Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms Regulation Division. The mission of the Alliance is to support the viticulture and enological business interests of its 47 Members, as they relate to grapes and wine from our AVA.
