Section Wines was established in 2014. Specializing in Italian, Bordeaux, and Rhône varietals grown in Santa Barbara County and surrounding AVAs. Marco’s winemaking was founded in the style of the old world. His approach to branding is quite modern. Here intertwining his love for music and art with the beautiful flavors of his handcrafted wines.

Meet the winemaker and founder Marco Lucchesi.

Marco Lucchesi, hailing from Pisa, Tuscany. He grew up amidst the rich cultural tapestry of Italian life, notably steeped in the culinary arts and oenology. His parents’ ownership of a restaurant in Pisa provided the backdrop for Marco’s early immersion in the world of fine dining and wines. With a father who was a sommelier, Marco’s upbringing included hands-on experience during harvest seasons, beginning at the tender age of 13.

While his roots lie deeply entrenched in Italian tradition, Marco’s journey led him to the Napa Valley, where he honed his skills at esteemed establishments like Trefethen Winery and Vineyards, Laird Family Estate, and Judd Hill. This diverse experience culminated in the launch of Section Wines, a testament to his passion for winemaking and viticulture. Despite his international education and professional pursuits. Marco’s approach remains rooted in the timeless practices and values instilled in him during his formative years in Italy.

Tomi Cellars is the winery project from Boyd Shermis and Denise Davis, with a little help from some family and good friends. We’re now six years in and have thirteen wines in the bottle. Our goal each year is to make the finest wines possible from the the very best vineyards in Santa Barbara County Wine Country on the Central Coast of California. And particularly the Sta. Rita Hills AVA.

We are open Thursday through Monday from 11:30 am to 5:30 pm. We also occasionally open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays if we know you’re coming. While appointments are recommended, walk-ins are always welcome. Tasting fees are $20 per person, waived with a two-bottle purchase. Refugio Ranch Vineyards

Wine Tasting

After searching for years in the Central Coast for the perfect spot, we discovered Refugio Ranch in the Santa Ynez Valley in 2005. The land was untouched, having been a cattle grazing ranch for the past few hundred years. We immediately brought the PhD “dirt docs” down from Napa who, after careful analysis of the soils and microclimate, indicated Refugio Ranch was perfectly suited for growing Rhone varietals and Sauvignon Blanc. This resulted in our planting 15 blocks on 26 of the most prime acres of our 415-acre ranch.

Coquelicot Estate Vineyard

Developed in 1999, the Coquelicot Estate Vineyard lies just south of the historic Mission Santa Ines in the Santa Ynez Valley on California’s Central Coast. In 2007 we implemented sustainable and also organic farming protocols with the goal of obtaining our organic certification in 2010.

Our vineyard crew strives daily to keep our vines healthy and happy. We believe in pushing our vines by applying just the right amount of stress to produce incredible character and flavor concentration in our grapes. Over the years more than a few couples have tied the knot in our vineyard and then danced the night away in our restored ninety year old barn.

Coquelicot Wines offers a diverse selection of handcrafted wines in the heart of Santa Ynez Valley, California. Situated on a picturesque estate, the winery specializes in producing small-batch, artisanal wines.

Crawford Family Wines embraces the “garagiste” style of winemaking by producing tiny lots of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Syrah that provide a glimpse into the unique Sta. Rita Hills vineyards they come from.

 

Striving for authenticity in varietal character and a sense of place, we employ a minimalist approach to winemaking and let the fruit do the talking.

Foley Estates Vineyard & Winery ~

at Rancho Santa Rosa ~

Foley Estates Vineyard & Winery at Rancho Santa Rosa is the realization of vintner Bill Foley’s dream to produce world class Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in Santa Barbara County.

A historic parcel located in the Sta. (Santa) Rita Hills region of the Santa Ynez Valley, Rancho Santa Rosa was formerly a thoroughbred horse ranch. In 1998, the 460-acre property was purchased and planted to 230 acres of vineyard. Devoted to Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Syrah, the vineyard has been subdivided into 59 micro-blocks with each being farmed, harvested and vinified separately.

The handsome stables have been refurbished to house the winery, with tremendous detail going into the planning of a modern facility, while honoring age-old winemaking tradition.
