With the magic touch of Viggo Brandt-Erichsen, a talented Solvang sculptor and artist, the building embraced the enchanting Danish provincial architectural style.

By 1953, the Hansens had a brilliant idea! They transformed their lovely structure into “Solvang’s first motel,” realizing that the thousands of tourists flocking to Solvang and the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley needed a cozy place to stay. Thus, the traditional Danish building began welcoming travelers from near and far.
