Carr Vineyards and Winery

Ryan Carr, the owner, winemaker, and grower for Carr Vineyards & Winery, discovered his passion for viticulture after moving to Santa Ynez Valley, California. Originally from Southern California, Ryan had an interest in farming but pursued an Art degree from the University of Arizona. After tasting local wines in Santa Ynez, he decided to delve into viticulture. He started with vineyard management and later working at Central Coast Wine Services in 1998.

In 1999, Ryan produced his first vintage, a Cabernet Sauvignon, in his garage from grapes he helped grow, yielding just 10 cases. Encouraged by the positive feedback, he partnered with Andy Kahn to start a vineyard development company and became the assistant winemaker for Kahn Winery. This collaboration allowed Ryan to create his first commercial vintage.

Santa Barbara County

By 2004, Carr Winery was producing over 1,000 cases and gaining national recognition. By 2006, Ryan had built three wineries and planted over 200 acres of grapes in Santa Barbara County. In 2007, he opened Carr Winery in downtown Santa Barbara, one of only four full production wineries and tasting rooms in the area. Since then, Carr Winery has received numerous accolades and awards, cementing its reputation for producing some of Santa Barbara County’s finest wines.

Limited Production Wines

Carr Vineyards and Winery specializes in ultra-premium, limited production wines from Santa Barbara County. Varietals include Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Grenache, Sangiovese and Cabernet Franc. We are open for wine tasting, wines by the glass, and bottles to go.

Presqu’ile Winery

Located in the heart of Santa Barbara County’s Santa Maria Valley, Presqu’ile Winery (pronounced press-KEEL) is a small, family-run winery dedicated to making exceptional cool-climate Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.

Designed and planted to create a diverse tapestry of vineyard blocks. The sustainably certified, 73-acre Presqu’ile Vineyard features an array of clones, exposures and elevations. Made using this estate fruit, and grapes from a handful of the finest vineyards in the valley, Presqu’ile’s wines capture the essence of their vineyards and vintage. Presqu’ile Winery

A winery, barrel & wine-tasting lounge with a “hip” modern industrial luxury vibe that is a cross between a New York “Soho” music venue and a beautiful “Napa Valley” tasting lounge. To make the experience even better, McClain features a beautiful one of a kind limited edition custom made Harley Davidson motorcycle for all the world to see and selfie.

Hang outside and soak in the warm Buellton sun and relax in the cool breezes or step up to the bar for an amazing wine tasting experience of reds, whites, and sparkling wines.

We offer live Jazz and Blues music on most weekends and an inviting lounge-like atmosphere with a patio. Snacks, cheese & charcuterie also available. Sunstone Winery

Sunstone Winery, nestled in Santa Ynez, began as a dream for the Rice family in 1989. They sought a place for top-notch organic grapes and found it on their 52-acre ranch. Linda Rice’s vision, sadly cut short in 2010, lives on in Sunstone, now under new ownership with Teddy and Djamila Cabugos joining in 2019 and John and Janna Price in 2021.

The estate’s 28-acre vineyard, planted in 1990, remains one of Santa Barbara County’s oldest continuously organically grown vineyards. Sunstone is not just a winery but a destination, honored by locals and visitors alike for its exceptional wines and inviting ambiance.

The winery’s origins trace back to a converted horse barn, rebuilt into a stunning tasting room in 1994. Surrounded by French lavender and rosemary, Sunstone offers a picturesque setting for wine tasting, with a kitchen, barrel-aging caves, and outdoor spaces for events and picnics.

Director of Winemaking Brittany Rice focuses on Bordeaux and Rhone-style wines, with Sunstone renowned for its Viognier and Syrah. The flagship blend, “Eros,” has received numerous accolades, along with other Sunstone wines consistently rated highly.

The Sunstone Villa, built by Fred and Linda Rice, stands as a testament to their commitment to authenticity. Constructed with reclaimed materials from France, it offers an intimate setting for Wine Club members to experience the Sunstone lifestyle.
