All of the wines produced by CrossHatch Winery are co-fermented blends sourced from Santa Barbara County vineyards. The idea of co-fermented wine is nothing new. Some of the best and oldest wines in the world are made this way, but with the micro-climates of Santa Barbara it really adds another layer to the process. Co-fermentation brings out and creates flavors in the wine that would not have existed otherwise. This makes the CrossHatch wine truly one of a kind.

Martellotto Wine Productions

The story of Martellotto (which means big hammer in Italian) begins in Alberobello in Puglia, Italy. My grandfather left the old country in 1918 to find a new, better life for himself and us. Given that my nonno produced wine in his basement for the local Italian community in the Bronx during Prohibition, it’s possible that my destiny in wine is genetically encoded.

This wasn’t my initial career trajectory; I intended to become a doctor. However, the allure and enticements of the vine were too strong to resist.

Balanced alcohol, oak tannins, and zippy acidity that make my lips smack are qualities of wines I find appealing. I believe great wine complements life. Wine is shared at peak moments and becomes a tool to make memories and experiences more vibrant. Wine is art and science, romantic and intimate, and it’s also fermented grapes.

The winery started in 2004 with a patch of raw earth, a bucket of grapevines and plenty of sweat from family and friends who joined to embark on the extraordinary. From this work emerged a commitment to produce authentic, handcrafted wines emblematic of the vintage, earth and effort.

Rhone Varietals

We focus on crafting elegant, alluring Rhone varietals with grapes sourced from extraordinary vineyards in the Santa Ynez Valley. We are the boutique in boutique, creating only 1,000 cases each vintage.

While we began making wine in the garage, we now offer barrel-tasting sessions at the winery along with vineyard tours and Grenache Roadshows for wine club members. The majority of our production is sold through our tasting room in historic, eclectic Los Alamos, California.

Margerum Wine Company, based in the Santa Ynez Valley, in California, crafts exceptional wines that reflect the region’s unique terroir. Established by winemaker Doug Margerum in 2001, the winery focuses on producing small batches of high-quality wines. Specializing in Rhône varietals, Margerum Wine Company offers a diverse portfolio of wines, including Grenache, Syrah, and Viognier, among others. Each wine is meticulously crafted to express the characteristics of the grape variety and the terroir where it’s grown.

The winery’s tasting rooms, located in downtown Santa Barbara, and in Los Olivos, provides visitors with an opportunity to experience Margerum’s wines in a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Guests can enjoy tasting flights and learn about the winemaking process from knowledgeable staff members.

In addition to its tasting room, Margerum Wine Company offers an online store, allowing customers to purchase their favorite wines conveniently. Founded by Gretchen Voelcker, Luna Hart Wines is a boutique wine company specializing in small batch, handcrafted wines in the Santa Ynez Valley. Gretchen makes select wines in which she explores the techniques and nuances that continue to stoke her passion for wine.
Aiming to work with organic, biodynamic or sustainable fruit, Gretchen seeks the highest quality grapes. With her winemaking style, she discovers vineyards that truly represent a unique terrior and produce grapes that hold varietally true.
With careful attention to the fruit in the vineyard and tasting daily throughout fermentation, Gretchen produces high quality, fruit forward wines with bright acidity. Her hope is to highlight the grape’s origin, the vintage and variety. She focuses on producing varietal wines from her favorite grapes that spur her to learn more about winemaking and to showcase them more purely and more precisely. Gretchen never turns down the opportunity to experiment and welcomes interesting projects.

Established in 2018, Piazza Family Wines is a small family owned vineyard and winery located in Ballard Canyon.

Great wines are not made in the cellar but in the vineyard. We intentionally aim to showcase the unique qualities of place with the wines; hand crafting them to represent the soil, climate and varietal for each vintage. With a focus on the vineyard, and following organic farming practices. This ensures each harvest yields the best possible grapes for that vintage and gives a true representation of their unique Ballard Canyon terroir, all while respecting the land and nourishing it for future generations.

In the winery, Winemaker Gretchen Voelcker focuses on minimal intervention and allows the grapes to speak for themselves. She listens to the clues of harvest and picks the grapes at optimal times for balance and complexity.

Brave & Maiden Estate, we take our name from the “Legend of Nojoqui” (pronounced Naw-ho-wee), an indigenous incarnation of Romeo & Juliet. Set at the nearby Nojoqui Falls, the legend recounts the story of star-crossed lovers who choose sacrifice over separation. Inspired by such profound commitment, we’ve created a twofold and ambitious commitment of our own: to craft extraordinary wines and to share them with unforgettable hospitality.

Our wines are grown and produced under the direction of Consulting Winemaker Paul Hobbs and with the mastery of Winemaker Josh Klapper in the cellar. In our portfolio of wines, you’ll find exquisite Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Grenache, Merlot, and Sauvigon Blanc. We have also taken on a particular goal of producing world-class Cabernet Sauvignon from Santa Ynez. Over 20 years ago, our Founding Partner, Thomas Stolpman, discovered what we believe to be one of the greatest viticulture sites on earth. Hidden in the hills of California’s Central Coast, on a rare Limestone outcropping and unobstructed from the Pacific Ocean wind, this unique land is ideally suited to grow Syrah and Roussanne grapes. We are committed to preserving this natural environment for our vines through natural farming, dry farming, and sustainable employment. In the winery, we prefer native fermentation and minimal manipulation.
Dedicated to sensible farming and wine making, we believe that we can create natural, vibrant, site-specific wines, with a focus unique to Ballard Canyon AVA, California.

Anna and David deLaski started Solminer to fulfill a dream – to create sincere and well-balanced wines showcasing grapes from their 5-acre organic vineyard in Los Olivos, CA. The couple share a passion for elegant, food-friendly wines utilizing small lots of interesting varietals including Grüner Veltliner, Blaufränkisch and Syrah. They take great care in considering what goes (and doesn’t go) into the soils, barrels and bottles. The wines are simply made using classic winemaking practices resulting in minimal intervention and maximum flavors of terroir!

Master Sommelier Paolo Barbieri

(BWC) Barbieri Wine Company was founded in 2005 by Master Sommelier Paolo Barbieri. Prior to 2005, Paolo started making very small lots in his garage in Las Vegas. This eventually evolved into forming Barbieri Wine Company to set out to produce his own wine.

Wine Company Rhone Varietals

The objective was to produce Rhone Varietals from top vineyards located in Santa Barbara County. The approach was simple: work with great growers and use minimalistic wine making techniques without heavy oak influence.

Before and during the development of his wine company, Paolo worked in the restaurant business for over 30 years managing numerous world class wine lists from Europe and later in the United States exposing him to the best wines in the world, which ultimately shaped his approach for his own wines. During this time, Erin Kempe joined Paolo, and together they continued to fulfill their passion for wine making and developing hand-crafted boutique wines in Los Olivos, Santa Barbara county wine country.

Section Wines was established in 2014, and specializes in Italian, Bordeaux, and Rhône varietals grown in Santa Barbara County and surrounding AVAs.
